Fukushima is once again on the news as TEPCO (Tokyo Electric Power Company) recently admitted that the leakage of radiation contaminated water at the Fukushima plant has not been contained. After denying it for over 2 years, Japan’s nuclear watch dog has come out saying that for days, the plant has been spewing out 300,000 tons of radioactive water into the ocean and that the leak in Fukushima is a State of Emergency. “I believe it’s been leaking into the ocean from the start of the crisis two-and-a-half years ago,” disclosed a 12-year TEPCO veteran named Suzuki-San (source). That means for over 860 days the plant has been pumping out iodine, cesium and strontium into the ocean. Estimates have it reaching the west coast of the United States in 3 to 5 years.
When asked about the seriousness of this radioactive pollution, Arnold Grundsen founder and president of Fairewinds Associates said: “The horse is already out of the barn here
Chernobyl on the other hand was an air explosion that dwarfs the amount of air contaminants released from Fukushima. When you take into consideration this new revelation from TEPCO, the water contamination swings the scale back to Fukushima being one of the worst nuclear disasters in terms of fallout. “At this current time in July of 2013, Fukushima is 80 to 100 times more expansive and more intense — letting out about 100 times more of the radiation of Chernobyl,” reports Dr. Simon Atkins Phoenix Rising Radio on a BlogTalkRadio interview. One of the scariest things about this crisis is that we will not know the full extent of the damage for years to come. Spiked cancer rates are the most probable outcome but no one really knows what this will do to the people and marine life across the globe that are going to be affected.
When asked about the seriousness of this radioactive pollution, Arnold Grundsen founder and president of Fairewinds Associates said: “The horse is already out of the barn here. This plant’s been leaking for two years. And finally, now, the radioactive water has made it to the ocean. But my experience with underground water is that – if it is serious at the ocean, it is more serious as you move away from the ocean. So, spike of radiation continues to move to the ocean”.
“The Japanese are proposing putting in a barrier to prevent the water from entering the ocean. That is two years too late and will be too late by the time they construct that barrier”
If the water can’t go anywhere into the Pacific Ocean, it is going to build up onsite, which means that the nuclear reactors themselves will become unstable. The water can pull underneath the nuclear buildings and if there is an earthquake, in fact the nuclear buildings could topple. So, by solving one problem, they are creating another problem.
After the initial aftermath of the meltdown, Pure and Secure distillers were used to help nearby victims purify their water from the radiation. This also gave us a unique opportunity to test how our machines measured up to this unique form of contaminant.
Iodine………….…….89.6% reduction
Cesium………..…….99.8% reduction
Strontium 90….….91.0% reduction
Uranium…………….99.5% reduction
Iodine has a relatively small half-life of 8 days and Cesium with a half –life of 30 years will actually be processed by your body in about 30 days. Strontium on the other hand gets into your bones and replaces the calcium.

Needless to say we don’t need any of these known carcinogens in our water. Carcinogens are only going to increase in our diets and environment as time goes on and we all need to become more aware of this threat. A premium made water distiller like The AquaNui or Classic line is going to give you one of the best removal rates for radiation or any other toxin out there.
