For years, we have known about the correlation between toxic levels of lead in children and impulsive behavior, lower IQs and shorter attention spans in school. Recently, a study published in the Environmental Research journal, shows that even mild and moderate levels of lead in children are yielding similar results. Researchers from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, discovered that children with just moderate levels of lead-blood levels in their first 3 years of life are almost 3 times more likely to be suspended from school by the time they are 9 or 10 than children whose blood-lead levels were much lower.
Most studies in the past have looked at children at ‘the acute end of poisoning’ or more than 20 micrograms of blood-lead levels. However this study focused on 3,763 Milwaukee Public school children whose levels were between 10-20 micrograms and compared them to children with blood-lead levels lower than 5 micrograms. They found almost 1 in 3 students exposed to lead had been suspended compared to just over 1 in 10 who lead levels under 5 micrograms.
What does all of this mean? It means it’s especially important for pregnant and nursing mothers and babies to be consuming lead-free water. How can you be assured of this? By using an expertly engineered distiller such as AquaNui.
There is and should be no compromise when it comes to the health of your baby.
